For the second year in a row, the Peelbergen Equestrian Center in Kronenberg was the setting for one of our Zangersheide Live Foal Auctions last night! A collection of 15 top foals from prominent jumping stallions in combination with strong dam lines were offered for sale and auctioned under the direction of auctioneer Chris De Heer. With an average sales price of 24,600 euros and buyers from both home and abroad, it was a successful edition again this time!
The auction topper of the evening was the filly Chacco's Lighting JT Z, where the letters JT refer to the breeding farm of Johan Thijs. As her name suggests, Chacco's Lighting JT Z is a daughter of Chacco Blue and this in combination with the mare Happy Days Z (Heartbreaker), the full sister of the stallion Hardrock Z and also a half sister of Cocaine Z (Caretano Z). Chacco's Lighting JT Z could count on a lot of international interest, but in the end she will stay in Belgium. After a tough bidding duel between some candidate buyers, she was sold to XQ-Stables for an amount of 62,000 euros!
One of the foals who was sold abroad was the colt Baloubet's Pearl Z, a son of Baloubet du Rouet and Emerald van 't Ruytershof, who was bred by Hans Schipper and Chris de Heer. Baloubet's Pearl Z appeared as the second foal in the ring and found his new owner in the United States for an amount of 36,000 euros.
A few foals also found their new owners in Germany, including the filly Chanel AEG Z. This daughter of Chacco Blue out of the mare Josephine vd Bisschop (Tornedo FCS) was bred by Stal Aegten BVBA and was sold for 32,000 euros.
