After last week's successful auction in Peelbergen, we went to Sentower Park in Opglabbeek for the second Zangersheide Live Foal Auction last night. A total of 14 carefully selected foals were presented to the public before being sold under the approving eye of auctioneer Louis De Cleene. It was another fruitful evening with an average selling price of just under €25,000!
The topper of the evening was the colt Comme des Garçons Z, who was the very last to appear in the auction ring. Comme des Garçons Z is a son of Cornet Obolensky out of the mare VDL Groep Eureka (Chin Chin), who jumped at 1.60m level under the saddle of Maikel van der Vleuten. After a tough bidding duel, Comme des Garçons Z was sold to a Belgian buyer for €47,000!
But also the blood of our own Zangersheide stallions was again very popular during this second Zangersheide Live Foal Auction. For example, no less than €40,000 was paid for the filly Call me Funky Z, a daughter of our grey stallion Caribis Z out of Christian Ahlmann's former GP mare Funke Van 't Heike (Action Breaker).
There was also a lot of interest in the colt Adonix TS Z, whom has the blood of Aganix du Seigneur Z flowing through his veins and this in combination with Berlin. Adonix TS Z was sold to the Netherlands for €32,000.
Finally, also €32,000 was paid by Poland for the colt Cosmo Van De Broekkant Z, a son of Canturano Z and Berlin and who is also the full brother of Martin Fuchs' Grand Prix mare Chica B Z.
